The cooperative, leading in the cultivation and sale of kiwis, will manage around 40,000 tonnes of produce in this campaign between Haywards, Hort16A and Jintao.
Because of the delay in spring and high temperatures in October, harvesting was late this year but, thanks to a mild November, kiwis were stored in good condition. "I am satisfied with the quality of the product, especially with regards to grades, shape, colour and quality in general."
"The European market started slowly in the last two weeks, whereas the one overseas is far more active, maybe also due to the fact that New Zealand stocks ended earlier than expected. We are not worried about competition from other countries."
"I am very optimistic regarding the campaign, as there is the chance of exporting high quality produce on a large market," concludes Cristian Moretti.
