Soldive begins Senegalese campaign

France-based grower and shipper of melons, Soldive, has begun sourcing their traditional Charentais melons from Senegal in time for the Christmas season.

“The campaign will end at the end of December” said Soldive's Audrey Brizard. “The traditional Charentais melon offers flavors unmatched and there is a diversification of sizes of melons, which complies with the different needs of customers.” Brizard noted that brix levels for the melons are expected to be between 13 and 18.

Since 2008, Soldive has also been active in Senegal with charitable causes. For example, in conjunction with Plan International, Soldive helped with medical treatment, a, of a young Senegalese girl, Aissata. She needed a surgical procedure in France, because she suffered from rheumatic heart disease. Soldive also participated in the construction of a school near St Louis, where some of Soldive's melons are grown. They recently bring water in a village for the comfort of the population.
