US: Avocados from Mexico launches holiday promotions

Gearing up for the holidays in December and Super Bowl in February, Avocados from Mexico is launching two campaigns to capitalize on the expected rise in consumption these events are expected to bring.

As a way to highlight the melding of Mexican and American holiday traditions, Avocados from Mexico has launched their Feliz Navidad Program. Slated to go through December, Mario Lopez will do interviews for the program in his capacity as celebrity spokesperson. Avocados from Mexico has also partnered with Modelo beer on point of sale displays promoting both the beer and avocados as well as offering discounts to consumers when both products are purchased together. It is buy three Avocados from Mexico and save $3 instantly on a 12-pack of Modelo beer (with beer purchase), or buy three avocados from Mexico and save $2.00 instantly on any fresh pork purchase of $5.00 or more (without beer purchase).

In January, Avocados from Mexico will then launch their Super Bowl program, which will run through February. It will include a “Guacamole Bowl,” where friends and followers can share guacamole recipes on social media sites in preparation for the big game. In addition to that, in-store displays will advertise cross-promotional material: buy 3 Avocados from Mexico plus any Cholula (5 oz. size or larger) and GET Mission Tortillas or Chips FREE (value to $2.99).
