Argentina: Blueberry export campaign coming to a close

Fernando Martorell, of IDEP's Export Promotions department, confirmed that the blueberry export campaign should come to a close this weekend.

"Exports are already in their final stages," he reported. "After that, two weeks will follow in which operations will be redirected."

In this sense, he stated that "so far, 3,000 tonnes have been exported; a similar volume to last year's. There are still a few shipments left, so we will likely surpass 2012's figures."

"It is worth noting that our operations have been carried over a shorter period of time than last year, as we started on 11 October and we had a whole week of rain; thus, we exported more over a shorter time span," he concluded.
