Spain: Caspe, distinguished by their recycling of agricultural packaging

Caspe's City Council has been honoured by the Agrarian Empty Containers Collection System (SIGFITO) for their voluntary and active collaboration in the collection of this waste.

The mayor of the city, Pilar Herrero, attended the awards ceremony in which the Sociedad Cooperativa del Campo San Marcos, in Huesca, AGRIMAIL, SL in Teruel, and Commercial Bárdenas, SL (Zaragoza), companies were awarded a prize.

The SIGFITO Awards are an initiative that recognises the effort made by the collection points in environmental conservation. The collection points cooperates with the system, voluntarily and at no costs, collects the farmers' empty packages for recycling, thus avoiding penalties as a result of poor management (burning or abandonment of the containers).
