Argentina: The blueberries and limes from Tucuman keep finding their way into Asia

Citrusvil, Citromax, San Miguel and the All Lemon group participated in the Asia Fruit Logistica Fair, held in Hong Kong between September 6 and 9, 2013, with the support and coordination of IDEP (Institute of Production of Tucumán).

Under the Tucuman Brand, the companies were part of the Argentine pavilion at Asia's most appealing fruit and vegetable fair. The country showed its fruit and vegetable with producers and exporters of pears, apples, cherries, citrus and blueberries. Tucuman represented 70% of the Argentinean pavilion.

"This show helps us to strengthen trade ties and to find new contacts: consumers who need different products. We try to reach supermarkets directly and face to face contact greatly facilitates the negotiation, because there can be communication failures or difficulties through mail ... by coming here, we overcame the language and time barrier," said Axel Hagelin, trade manager of the Asian and Middle Eastern markets for the San Miguel company.

The Asian market represents new opportunities for Citrusvil; opportunities to diversify destinations and continue their global expansion. "Participating in this fair gives us the means to achieve this purpose, by strengthening our trade relations."

It is important to come and to show our products at the fair. Particularly, we noticed an increase presence of new customers and new countries in this edition. We are fully satisfied," said Mariano Colombotto and Martjin Hazeu, commercial managers of Asian and Middle Eastern markets for Citrusvil."
