JD Fresh and Thailand Queen sign durian purchase agreement

The CEO of JD Fresh, Ye Wei, visited Thailand in early May. Upon arrival he immediately signed a durian purchase agreement for the entire season with the largest refrigerated durian processing company in Thailand--Thailand Queen. Durians commonly mature in April and May, and the retail season can last until September and October. It is difficult for consumers to find delicious, fresh durian the rest of the year, which is why the refrigerated durian industry emerged.

Refrigerated durian is the showcase product of Queen Company. Workers quick-freeze the durian flesh at -30 degrees. Afterwards the product is stored at -18 degrees. This method preserves the excellent taste of fresh durian. More importantly, however, is that the shelf life of refrigerated durian is extended.

Refrigerated durian has a great potential in the markets for fresh food, drinks, sweets, and medicine. Refrigerated durian and processed durian products can satisfy the varied demands of consumers all year round. The signed agreement makes Queen Company the direct and exclusive production area supplier for JD Fresh. They will supply an overall volume of 3000 tons this year. That is the weight after the thick shell is removed.
