Myanmar mango exports to China started on April 20th

The Myanmar Trade Promotion Association reported that Myanmar mangoes were prohibited from export prior to April 20th. Wu Miaodu, president of the association, stated that a large volume of Sein Ta Lone mangoes is exported to China, Singapore, Brunei, and several European countries every year. Many traders rush to seize their market share and ignore product quality. They purchase unripe mangoes and use accelerated ripening technology to enter the market before the competition arrives. The association announced this prohibition on mango export prior to April 20th to protect the image of Myanmar mangoes.

Mango exporters are working together with the Consumer Protection Agency and the Myanmar Trade Promotion Association to spread this message to plantation owners in mango production areas. At the same time, they only allow mangoes to enter the Myanmar 105th Mile Fruit Trade Market after April 20th. The market records show that nearly 500 tons of Myanmar mangoes pass through the market to China every day between April and June.
