He admits that there are high expectation for the fig season this year. "We have a good working relationship with Finkum, our long-time partner and Turkish supplier. We get fresh supplies a few time a week." According to Jan, the demand is very high. "This has resulted in high prices, which is normal for the beginning of the season. The most important buyers of these Turkish figs are supermarkets and wholesale companies. We are, in fact, seeing increasing demand for this product."
Peak will be in a few weeks
The Turkish fig season will peak in a few weeks and the product will be available until the end of October. The figs are packaged in standard 1.6 lined boxes and in packed 6 x 4 and 10 x 500's.
