India main importer of Egyptian onions in 2015

Engineer Saad Musa, chairman of Egypt's Central Administration for Agricultural Quarantine, of the Ministry of Agriculture and land Reclamation, reported that India currently ranks first among the countries importing Egyptian onions, with 24 thousand tonnes so far this season.

He said in an exclusive statement to Veto Gate that the total volume of Egyptian onions exported to 25 countries across the world this year amounts to approximately 200 thousand tonnes.

Mr Musa noted that all shipments overseas met the Egyptian quality requirements, which is consistent with the future plans to increase the country's agricultural exports.
