Ginger prices increasing by the week

The company Ridatrade grows ginger in the Chinese countryside, where it is in charge of the whole chain from growing to export. Besides sales offices in Singapore and Malaysia, the company has an office in Den Hoorn, The Netherlands. The advantages of having a Dutch office is clear, according to sales manager Gerry Li: "Direct contact with the customer, the best price and always stock for the customer.

"The ginger prices at the moment are high, with prices rising weekly. We are now at the end of the season so I can't say if all the ginger will be in perfect condition but it leaves our warehouse in great condition," said Gerry. He expects good prices in the run up to Christmas, after then the price will fall."
