NTB's know how to face the challenges posed by Brexit and extra-EU customs

"We can manage the entire bureaucratic, logistics and commercial part on behalf of clients"

Brexit may seem an outdated topic, but the new rules concerning the international fresh produce trade that it led to have considerable effects. The wish of many Italian companies, especially medium-small ones, to expand abroad often clashes with extra-EU customs challenges. NTB specializes in training and information to improve business culture precisely on customs practices.

Romina Roccasalvo (NTB) and Angelo Galifi (Gali Group)

In Berlino, NTB stood out thanks to events including "La Sicilia nel mondo", which various leading companies active in the field of internationalization took part in.

"Many topics were discussed, including Brexit, which led to new customs rules and border checks that have significant repercussions on the flows and timeframes of logistics markets. Both exporter and importer companies must now face additional costs to prepare all the documents necessary and keep up to date with the new regulations. They must also invest in training costs, which represents a further financial burden. Finally, there is the concrete risk for perishable goods to remain blocked at customs for checks and to become unusable if refused, leading to economic losses for the companies involved," explained Romina Roccasalvo, CEO at NTB.

"NTB can play an important role as a customs broker. Thanks to personnel specialized in import/export operations, NTB can take care of the bureaucratic, logistics and commercial part on behalf of clients so that they can focus on production alone."

Guglielmo Aprile, marketing manager at NTB

"The next step is to create a business network to generate opportunities for all those small companies that are not managing to enter the international markets alone. These companies could benefit from the resources provided by NTB's network and know-how gained thanks to its years operating on an international scale," adds Guglielmo Aprile, marketing manager at NTB.

"During Fruit Logistica 2024 in Berlin, NTB has proven to a wider public that it can aggregate companies and guide them towards internationalization. What is more, NTB can organize participation in the most important fairs and help companies even after, becoming an actual outsources sales office. We will have the opportunity to involve many other companies at Macfrut in Rimini and Fruit Attraction in Madrid to explain how to bring Sicily to the world," concluded Aprile.
