Floating dock adds new services for the vessels transiting the Suez Canal

Ossama Rabiee, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Suez Canal Authority, has announced the arrival of floating dock "Fakhr Al-Qanah" at Portsaid shipyard, shipped out from Sang Sangin shipyard in the Republic of Korea.

The Chairman stressed that the floating dock means a big leap, adding new capabilities to the field of the maintenance and repair of large marine units in the light of SCA's strategy to diversify revenues' resources through providing new services for the Canal transiting vessels depending on foreign repair works system and utilizing the spectacular shipyards' location at the Northern entrance of the Canal.

The transit of the floating dock through the Suez Canal is considered a special transit operation, as it took around 24 hours to transit, and required some advance arrangements to ensure the direct transit.
