"Started late, but of excellent quality"

Chilean Pink Lady apples arrive at Aartsen

Aartsen has been importing apples from across the globe for years in both Europe and Asia. They bring in well-known varieties like Royal Gala, Fuji, and Granny Smith, but also exclusive club varieties such as Kanzi, Dazzle, Kiku, Koru, Ever Crisp, Envy, Jazz, Cosmic Crisp, and Ambrosia.

“We're also a proud Pink Lady licensee in the Benelux and, so, are greatly looking forward to the arrival of these beloved, authentic apples from overseas. We've already gotten the first Chilean ones," says Niels van Nunen.

To highlight this, Aartsen's Dutch and Belgian branches will have various Pink Lady promotions in week 24. "We want to maximize our reach within our client segment. Despite this year's weather conditions, the fruit is of excellent quality. Plus, this year, quality assurance has been tightened. The apples' color is being extra critically assessed."

Imports were significantly delayed, so the first volumes from Chile only arrived now. Far fewer Pink Lady apples have, so far, been exported to Europe. That will hopefully benefit the transition and seasonal shift.

Aartsen imports the complete size range of this club variety from Chile, South Africa, and New Zealand. "Besides the European supply, which is now ending, we're proud to supply our buyers with Pink Lady year-round. We look forward to a successful season for our growers and clients," Niels concludes.
