Eisberg relies on AI-supported quality control at its Dällikon site

The Eisberg Group announces the launch of a new pilot project for AI-supported quality control at its Swiss production site in Dällikon. Together with Fruitful AI, the fresh-cut specialist is testing an automated system for label and content inspection as part of the Kickstart Innovation Program. This system is designed to intelligently support and further optimize existing packaging processes.

"As Switzerland's leading supplier of fresh convenience products, the reliable quality of our lettuce, fruits, and vegetables is our daily commitment. AI technologies offer us decisive advantages, some of which we already use or intend to use in the future. In quality control and sorting, AI-supported image processing automatically checks products for ripeness, damage, and quality. This guarantees consistently high standards and helps us to reduce waste in the long term," says Eisberg AG.

Another factor is process optimization: "By analyzing large amounts of data, AI supports the optimization of our production processes (e.g., in terms of temperature, packaging, storage). This enables lower energy consumption, more efficient use of resources, and a reduction in costs. We are continuously testing the actual added value of intelligent technologies in real-world operations – for greater quality, efficiency, and sustainability in food production."

In addition to Eisberg, Swiss food retail giant Coop has also announced its participation in the Kickstart Innovation Program.
