Just three per cent of Australian men eat enough fruit and vegetables

Recent research has shown that the health of Australian men is in peril, with nearly half affected by preventable chronic conditions. The statistics around the state of men's health in Australia are alarming, and as it turns out, a lot of it is preventable, the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare claims in a recent study.

Only three per cent of men eat the recommended intake of fruit and vegetables. More worryingly, 49 per cent suffer from at least one of the top 10 chronic conditions including diabetes, asthma, cancer, arthritis or heart disease.

What's more, 75 per cent of men are currently overweight or obese, which makes the fact that 58 per cent of men rated their health as either 'excellent' or 'very good' slightly confusing.
