Australian supermarkets selling avocados for just $1 each

Currently, Australian supermarkets are selling avocados for just $1 each. Coles and Woolworths have slashed the prices off the popular Australian-grown Hass avocados, which normally often cost upwards of $5 apiece.

Mark Watson, Coles senior category manager ripened fruit: 'We are entering the peak of the Queensland Hass Avocado season so there's an abundance of great quality avos in our stores at great prices. Currently, avocados are just $1 in all Coles supermarkets nationally. This runs up until close of business Thursday.'

Woolworths avocado category manager Jessica Loader credits the 'great growing season' for the supermarket's heavily discounted price. 'Australian Hass avocados are in abundance and fantastic quality,' she told Daily Mail Australia.

'Right now customers across Australia can enjoy some of the lowest avocado prices we've seen in the last decade. Avocados are one of our most popular items and we expect lots of households are making the most of this bumper harvest with family favourites like guacamole and smashed avo on toast.'
