The giant sweet spud takes up an awful lot of space in Mr. Cao's modest living room. His son-in-law harvested the enormous tuber a few days ago, after the rainy season. The whole thing weighs around 25 kilos, and the biggest of its 4 parts weighs over 15 kilos." Mr. Cao had to use both hands to lift it up.
According to the tech experts from the department of Agriculture, a sweet potato that weighs around 5 kilos is already pretty impressive but this 25 kilo stunner is astonishingly rare.
Mr. Cao's son-in-law explained that this was the first time he had grown anything like this monstrosity, but in general all his sweet potatoes were relatively bigger than last year. He never uses fertilizers, and everything else has been the same as the year before. The only difference was that he had used an excavator to plough the soil and it was on average 1 meter deep.
Mr. Cao added that his sweet potatoes are very delicious when cooked, but he prefers to keep such a king size sweetie for a bit longer, so that more people can share this novel story.
