Cucumber producers associated to Coexphal and Ecohal have met twice this week to analyse and keep track of the causes for the low prices registered by the product this week.
According to the data which Coexphal had access to, there is a great feeling of uncertainty amongst producers because of the bad results achieved at the moment. Many are carrying out product withdrawals and others, those with later plantations, are simply uprooting the plants because of the product failing to cover the production costs.
The traders associated to ECOHAL and COEXPHAL are very concerned about this situation, which is leading growers associated to the agro-businesses companies to withdraw their production because of the low prices paid for their cucumbers.
This is a very frustrating and desperate situation for both growers and traders of cucumbers in the provinces of Almeria and Granada.
