BLE market report week 48/15

Lemons: Spain dominates German trade

Lemons
The Spanish supply dominated the sales. The Turkish lemons in 5 kg and 9 kg boxes completed the range. Greek lemons were found in Frankfurt in 15 kg containers. The supply was sufficient to meet the constant demand. The supermarket returns influenced the trade in some places. The price often decreased due to the large supply. Even for the flawless lemons the prices had to be adjusted.

Apples
The supply decreased but it was still sufficient to meet demand. The trade was calm, mainly due to the drop in temperature at the beginning of the week.

Pears
Italy dominated the trade and overall the availability reduced somewhat. However since the interest decreased with the same amount the prices remained uninfluenced.

Grapes
Peru and Brazil are the main players in the trade. The importance of the imported product strongly increased, while the European produce lost ground.
