Apples from France in special packaging

In the 46th calendar week, small batches arrived from France in an unusual way. The fruit was presented in wooden crates and protected with straw. Their contents oscillated between 4 and 4.5 kg, so that each package needed to be weighed before sale. Along with the Golden Delicious, the Belchard® Chantecler was also sold in the Frischezentrum for the first time. This variety, which is especially popular in France, appeared in 1977 after the Golden Delicious x and the Reinette Clochard were cross bred.

This sweet apple has a special quality and that being it does not turn brown once cut. The harvest in France remained at a mere 51,000 tons this year.
