China: bumper jujube harvest

The jujube season (also called Chinese dates) starts in October. Harvest is abundant this year, and as a result prices are lower than in the previous season.

Current jujubes come from Xinjiang, Shanxi and Shangxi province. Over the past two years jujube production has increased in these regions. As a result, on some local markets, prices have come down by 50%. Prices of dried jujube are also expected to come down later in the season.
