Construction of Dettingen logistics centre commences
In the German district Dettingen, the construction of the new logistic centre for Lidl has started, reports the German newspaper 'Augsburger Allgemeine' on its website. A central warehouse and an office will be created on the 14 hectares.
Lidl already has 38 similar warehouses and distribution centres in Germany, and foresees around 3300 stores of food from here. In the future around 75 locations will be supplied from Dettingen. Around 2,000 pallets with products will be supplied and delivered per day.
The 388 metre long, 124 metre wide and 13 metre high logistics hall and the 46 by 18 metre large office will be used as of winter 2015/2016.
