Date tomatoes maintained the prices of two weeks ago, selling at €3-3.50/kg. Bunch tomato prices hover between €1.40-1.60/kg for the Italian varieties, whereas produce from the Netherlands is slightly more expensive (€1.80-2/kg).
The price of cherry tomatoes increased by 50-60 cents per kg and they are now sold at €2.80-3.20/kg. This type of tomato is the only one sold abroad, to Germany.
Picadilly tomatoes can still be found on the market at €1.80-2.20/kg, but they are the last ones.
But what will happen in the next few weeks? There is talk of an increase in production from the second part/end of the month as new greenhouse crops in Sicily will start producing. Produce from Spain will also arrive. Prices should therefore decrease from mid/late November.
