Sanguinetti Family Farms harvests largest Red Walnut crop

Sanguinetti Family Farms, the largest global grower and shipper of Red Walnuts, is now harvesting this fall's crop in Linden, CA. In honour of the start of harvest season, a Northern California TV station featured two of the growers, cousins Ron and Chris Sanguinetti, on the popular live morning show, “Good Day Sacramento.”

The two cousins spoke about the unique attributes of Red Walnuts and their excitement over this year's crop. “We came across these walnuts when I was working about 10 years ago and realized no one else has them,” the cousins shared. The two were immediately struck by their uniqueness, great taste and the amazing potential for consumers, chefs, and bakers of all stripes. “Why not have a Red Walnut during Christmas time?” Sanguinetti asked.

Rex Lawrence, President of iFresh Sales, Sanguinetti's sales and marketing partner, made an appearance on a later airing, in which he discussed the company's growing domestic and international sales in retail and food service.

"Yields appear to be good this year, and the quality and colour of the nuts are beautiful," Lawrence shared. “Based on customer feedback and sales, we expect a good selling season. Our peak selling period starts in mid-November and extends through Valentine’s Day in order to take full advantage of the winter holidays, January's salad season, and Valentine’s Day baking. As our crop grows, the season will continue to extend.”

Red Walnuts are all-natural, non-GMO and have a creamy taste with less bitterness than regular walnuts. As you would expect, they are loaded with Omega 3s!

Chefs and consumers are attracted to the way this flavour profile complements the walnut's beautiful red colour. Red Walnuts are the full package, with a flavour that keeps consumers coming back again and again for more.

Sanguinetti Family Farms does warn that supplies are limited. Sales will keep rolling until this season's Red Walnuts are sold out. Watch the Sanguinettis’ on Good Day Sacramento here.
