Nature's Pride also ripens pears

Nature's Pride, a specialist in mangoes, avocados, and papayas, is expanding their Ready to Eat assortment with pears. The first ready to eat Doyenné du Comice pears will be sold starting this week. Nature's Pride is known for supplying exotic ready to eat fruits such as avocados, mangoes, and papayas. Growing a typical Dutch product, such as pears, is a logical step for the company from Maasdijk.

Shawn Harris: "Pears are one of the most eaten fruits. However, the fruits that are on the shelves now are often unripe. From the consumers side it is clear that there is a need for convenience that would allow the consumers to eat the fruit directly after purchasing it."

The pears that Nature's Pride has added to their ready to eat assortment are the Doyenne du Comice variety. These pears hang on the trees two weeks longer which gives them a higher sugar count and makes them taste sweeter. The ready to eat pears are being brought onto the market under the EAT ME brand, and they are easily recognizable due to the bright purple sticker placed on each fruit.
