Rewe supports German growers in the sales of small apples

Supermarket chain Rewe has been selling red hand apples from Germany with the Pro Planet label in over 3,000 German Rewe supermarkets since Monday the 11th of November. The apples are smaller due to the cool weather in the spring and summer, but the taste is fine. The motto is: "Little apples, big flavour". Rewe seeks to support German fruit growers, who harvested exceptionally large amounts of small apples this year, reports the German website Fruchthandel.de.

"We want to give a signal in line with our ongoing sustainability weeks, and do some good together: for many German growers and the environment. Because with every sold Pro Plant apple we're not just supporting regional fruit growers, but also the environment, which is sustainably protected by the Pro Plant projects," explains Lionel Souque of Rewe.
