as well as the official opening of the new building

A lot of interest for Burg Machinefabriek open days

Last Friday the official opening of Burg Machinefabriek's new location in Kruiningen took place. Mayor Huisman of Reimerswaal conducted the official opening ceremony. Following this, two open days took place on Friday and Saturday. Around 1000 visitors used the opportunity to view the new machine factory. "We are still enjoying it. The open days really satisfied a need. All branches were represented and we also welcomed a lot of Belgian and German visitors," said general manager Arjan van Burg.

Arjan van Burg

In his speech Arjan took a look back into the 58 year history of the company, which produces machines for fruit cultivation, agriculture and horticulture. He thanked the employees, family, dealers and everyone who contributed to the new building. "And above all we thank God, who brought us to this new location and Who's Blessing we will need once again in this building." Arjan said the decision to move into a large building in Kruiningen was a huge step and thanked his brother and co-manager Piet for the 'sparring' to reach this decision. They also said goodbye to former workplace chief Wim Koster, who went on early retirement on the 1st of October.

Chris Koopman and RenĂ© Koster spoke for the employees. They recalled founder Maarten van Burg's pioneering spirit and applauded that despite the crisis, the order book is well filled. They praised the innovation of the company by always investing in newer and faster machines.

Then the first copies the magazine realised by Uitgeverij Boekhout were handed to the wife of the founder Maarten van Burg and the wife of - employee from the very beginning - Bram Wondergem, after which Mayor Huisman started the machine with the push of a button.
