Argentina: Supermarket turnover up 13.3%

Argentina's National Statistics and Censuses Institute (Indec) announced yesterday that the turnover of supermarkets in September recorded a 13.3% increase compared to the same period of 2011. Sales grew by 0.8% since August and totalled $ 8,753.2 million in revenue, which represents a 28.5% increase compared to the same month last year. This reflects the impact of inflation in the country. The inter-annual variation of sales during the first nine months of the year was of 26.8% compared to the same period of 2011.
