"The major festivities in Africa are over, so export is down, it's as simple as that. We used to ship about 6,000 tons per week, that's more than we do now. And the minute your buyers find out the price is down, they sit back and watch it go down even further."
"The only market that is doing anything is the red onion," says Wim. "Quality is good now, but we have to stay vigilant. All we can hope for is some decent weather, so the harvest can continue. I hear of places where 60% is still in the ground!"
