From Sierra de Tabasco

170,000 boxes of Mexican bananas to the Mediterranean

On board the refrigerated holds of the ship Humboldt Bay, 170,000 thousand boxes of bananas from the Regional Agricultural Union of Sierra de Tabasco have been shipped to the Mediterranean.

The vessel, which is 144 metres long and sailing under a Liberian flag, weights 3,400 tonnes and it is expected to transport at least three such banana shipments per year.

The Port Authority in Dos Bocas informed that, as of 2012, large scale shipments have begun of both mineral and agricultural products, from which we can highlight the 27,900 tonnes of sugar, which for the first time in the history of the port were exported via the Multipurpose Terminal.
