Israel: Introducing Juran's clod and stone separator

Juran's Clod & Stone Separator is a unique system designed to separate agricultural produce from unwanted spurious material and does so at superior levels of efficiency. Flexibility of design makes the system appropriate for handling a wide range of commodities such as potatoes, onions and flower bulbs.Providing first-class features, this device gently handles the produce; and the results prove that there is a very low percentage of external or internal damage caused to the commodities processed on Juran Separator. The Separator achieves 95% efficiency separating out stones and clods of earth.

Removal of stones and clods facilitates more accurate classification and minimizes the need for manual handling.

How does it work?
The Apparatus has been designed to separate products on the basis of physical
differences between the product and the associated material on the principle of
elasticity. It involves bouncing of the objects on a revolving roller and separating
them according to their trajectories.

Vibrating rod conveyer removes loose dirt from the produce.
Highly resilient rotating separation rollers reduce friction.
Stones and clods slide off while produce gently bounces onto the final conveyor.

The Separation Roller (Drum) mechanism
In order to achieve the required capacity, we have designed several models of devices with different lengths of the separation Drums.

Juran's Separator has been developed and tested by Israeli Government Institute for Agricultural Research – Volcani Research Centre, and is currently marketed worldwide through UK, Germany, Holland, and USA. The Separator system and drum technology hold European, American and Australian patents.
