Sakata Seed Corporation tours Europe with customers

Sakata Seed Corporation organized a tour for 'Floriad 2012' in Venlo, The Netherlands for some of its Japanese customers. The Floriad horticultural expo takes place every ten years.

Sakata Seed Corporation took this opportunity to invite some of its seed dealers in Japan to search together for new business opportunities in the future. The company has a strong business network in Europe through its sister company, Sakata Seed Europe, and the staff arranged all the travel schedules with local business partners successfully for the key Japanese customer accounts.

A total of 90 persons split into three different trip groups are expected to travel to Europe this summer. During the latest trip, Sakata also arranged a tour Greenco’s Tomato World in the Netherlands. Greenco produces different types of high quality tomatoes for high value markets. The tour travelled onto Rungis market near Paris, which is the biggest market of its kind in the world, to experience various different products and packages for vegetables, fruits and flowers from around the world.

So far two groups of Japanese seed dealers have travelled with Sakata on such trips with great success. The best souvenir for all the customers must be the new business ideas they received during the one week Sakata tour in various cities and venues in Europe. The last trip is expected to occur later this month.
