Hong Kong, Holland and China increase purchases of Peruvian grapes

Peruvian grape exports recorded in the first half year a growth of 28% until reaching USD 118.6 million, the increase was driven by demand from destinations such as Hong Kong, Holland, China, Indonesia and Russia.

For the period mentioned, the Asian continent (53.6% participation) led exports, followed by Europe (31.4%) and North America (9.6%).

Grape shipments have been showing a high dynamism in recent years, so much that between 2006 and 2011 it grew at an average annual rate of 43.3%.

It is expected that by the end of the year, exports will growth by 26% until reaching USD 370 million.

In total, 86 companies participated in grape exports, the main ones being: Complejo Agroindustrial Beta (20.8% participation), El Pedregal (16.2%), Sociedad Agrícola Drokasa (5%), Fundo Sacramento (4.6%), Agro Victoria (4.1%), Corporación Agrolatina (4%), Sociedad Agrícola Don Luis (3.7%), RVR Agro (3.1%) and Procesadora Laran (3%).
