Peru: Mandarin exports rising

Peruvian mandarin exports grew an average of 23% between 2006 and 2011, with a value of 40.4 million dollars in 2011, as reported yesterday by the Peruvian Society of Foreign Commerce (ComexPerĂș).

In the period between January and May 2012, Peruvian exports of this product registered a 17% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.

In the January to May period between 2009 and 2012 there was an average annual increase growth of 34%.

The main countries supplied include the UK, which receives 30.9% of the total Peruvian mandarin exports with a value of 5.5 million dollars.

Also Canada, which receives 30.8% of the total exports, with a value of 5.5 million dollars, increasing by 44% in the said period.

Additionally, exports to the US saw an 86% increase, accounting to approximately three million dollars.

The mandarin exports to Colombia were lower the previous year and accounted for 327,610 dollars in the period from January to May this year
