Germany: New prototype asparagus peeler

The company Tenrit Foodtec from the German Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock
presented the asparagus peeler Tenrit Plus 32 during the Expo SE in Karlsruhe in November, a specialized fair for the international asparagus and strawberry branch. "We are the first ones testing the new machine" Friedrich Winkelmann, manager of the 'Rahdener Spargel- und Beerenhof' says. Since 1 April he has worked with a prototype from Tenrit Foodtec. Tenrit Foodtec will be represented with the asparagus peeler with the largest capacity worldwide at the specialized fairs Expo SE, Interaspa and Fruit Logistica.

Tenrit Foodtec originates from the company CF Tenge-Rietberg started in 1967 started. "Building of machines was at that time only a small part of the company and was only undertaken when requested," Foodtec manager Axel Schneider says. In the meantime the building of machines has a central position in the company. Foodtec machines peel oblong vegetable varieties, such as carrots, cucumbers and asparagus. "From the small peeling machines this big asparagus peeler came into being, which is capable of peeling 14,400 asparagus per hour."

The company of Friedrich Winkelmann in Rahden already sell ten percent of asparagus peeled. Axel Schneider expects the tendency for peeled asparagus to continue. The catering industry demands fresh, but peeled and cut asparagus. The trading chains also offer peeled asparagus more often and in that way meet the wishes of the consumer, who does not want to spend a lot of time preparing before cooking.
