André Boon of AJB's Fruitbox expects ascending mango market

"Mali-mango's available until mid July"

This week the last mangos from the Ivory Coast will arrive in Holland. "The season has been reasonable. But Peru and Brazil have both been on the market a long time. So we haven't really had high prices, but the sales were reasonable", says André Boon of AJB's Fruitbox. "After this there are only mangos from Burkina Faso, Mali and some from Puerto Rico. So I can see a highly ascending market arriving."

"We will have, as long as the weather allows, mangos from Mali until mid July. We can already see an increasing and recurrent demand from countries such as Germany, Austria, France, and the United Kingdom. You can notice there are less suppliers active and the expectation is that the prices will rise more."
