25% drop on Guatemala exports to Europe

Sales from Guatemala to Europe, in the first six months of the year, dropped 25% in seven of the eleven countries buying their products, according to data from the Bank of Guatemala.

Products registering drops between 1% and 66% were coffee, sugar, fruits and vegetables.

The numbers represent sales for $106 millions, compared with the $141 millions in the same period of 2011.

Guatemala exports agricultural products like coffee, cardamom, flowers, pod vegetables, sugar, vegetables and fruits, among others, to the Euro zone.
