Edeka's turnover increases to over 45 billion Euro

The German food company Edeka has achieved a total turnover of 45.6 billion Euro in 2011. This means the turnover increased by two billion Euro compared to 2010. The 4,500 independent retailers that belong to the Edeka group, reached slightly over 20 billion Euro profit for the first time, the company said recently. Compared to 2010 this is an increase of 1.6 billion Euro.

The turnover of food discounter Netto, which belongs to the Edeka concern, increased by 3.3% to 10.7 billion Euro. Edeka announced investments of around 1.4 billion Euro for this year.
