Spain: CASI's president to complete term

The president of the Agricultural Cooperative San Isidro (CASI), José María Andújar, announced yesterday that he will continue leading CASI and will carry out his mandate until the end, having two years to go, despite saying that he would quit on the 14 of July, after the end of the present campaign during a meeting with the governing committee.

Andújar got the internal support that lead him to announce his decision to finish his mandate, from the three CASI Government organizations.

These three organizations unanimously agreed in asking Andújar to rethink his decision and continue as president for the two remaining years, after his positive results in commerce, production and management.

The president valued the support and pointed out the importance of what's been done until now and still needs to be done in the two years to come, regarding management, dropping the debt and adjusting costs; in commerce, the rise in exports to the United Kingdom and Germany, with the preparation centres working at 200%; in production, the reduction of varieties to make it easier to create a standard quality, and the biologic control; as for numbers, there's expected to be a profit of 3.2 million Euro by the campaign's end. Moreover, he expects to close down the agreements to get new markets.
