The SPAR network continues to grow with SPAR Spain's licensed partner, Grupo Cuevas, announcing the opening of new convenience stores. A new SPAR Express store opened in the province of León, in the small town of Sésamo. Located in the heart of the Bierzo region, this new store is the only store in the village. It offers local customers a large variety of fresh products, including fruit & vegetables, a bakery, exclusive SPAR Own Brand products, and other essentials for everyday life. The expansion of sub-licensed SPAR Express stores included a recent store opening in the province of A Coruña. SPAR Hungary's franchise network reached 313 locations nationwide at the end of June, with eight new franchise stores opened in the first half of the year. The eight new stores include three SPAR markets and five SPAR Partner stores, the company noted. These new locations include Jánosháza, Keszthely, Győr, Nádudvar, and four locations in Budapest, Hungary.

US: Walmart will serve as West Haven, Utah's first grocery store
West Haven, Utah, will soon have its first official grocery store - a Walmart. The Bentonville, Arkansas-based retailer has announced plans for a 176,000-square-foot Walmart Supercenter that will create about 300 new jobs.
