India's November retail inflation below 6% for first time this year
Food price inflation, which accounts for nearly 40% of the consumer price index (CPI) basket, eased to 4.67% in November from 7.01% in October. That was mainly due to a decline in prices of fruit and vegetables. However, prices of cereals, pulses and eggs continued to rise. "Favourable base effect and seasonal correction in food prices drove the November CPI inflation to a 10-month low," Elara Capital's Garima Kapoor said.

Pepco Group annual profit jumps 14.3% on store expansion
Pepco Group, owner of European discount retailer brands PEPCO, Poundland and Dealz, reported a 14.3% rise in annual core earnings, helped by the opening of 516 new stores, and forecast more growth in its new financial year. The group, which listed on the Warsaw stock market last year, said it made underlying earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 731mln euros ($771mln) in the year to September 30, up from 647mln euros in 2020-21. Revenue rose 17.4% to 4.82bln euros, with like-for-like sales up 5.2%.
