Yunan still shipping small volumes

Many banana plantations closed for Chinese New Year holiday

In the last couple of weeks, certain remote markets in China were busy stocking up bananas for the Lantern Festival (last day of Chinese New Year), leading to a high demand for good-quality products. Especially good-quality bananas from Burma became sought after and prices slightly increased. Recently, prices in each banana production area have stabilized again and no major price fluctuations occurred.

In the coming days, with the Chinese New Year approaching, there will be fewer trucks and transport workers available. Although there is still demand in the Chinese market, there is too little supply in the production areas, and some plantations even have closed their business for the holiday. Therefore, at present, most production areas in Myanmar, Guangxi, and Guangdong have stopped taking orders, while some in Yunnan and Laos are still taking orders and shipping as usual.
