Fruit Growers Tasmania, together with Primary Industries Minister Gavin Pearce and local growers, has launched the latest edition of the Seasonal Produce Guide as part of National Ag Day. Now in its 18th year, the guide provides information to help connect consumers with fruit and vegetable producers across Tasmania.

Fruit Growers Tasmania President Nic Hansen said the guide supports direct engagement between consumers and growers at farm gates, retail outlets, and farmers' markets. He noted that the summer fruit season is beginning, with local strawberries already available across the state and the first cherries expected by mid-December. Raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries are also expected to enter the market in the coming weeks.
Minister Pearce acknowledged the organisation's role in coordinating the guide and said it remains a useful resource for visitors seeking locally grown produce. He highlighted the contribution of the state's fruit and vegetable producers to Tasmanian agriculture and regional economies.
Spreyton Cider Co., which is included in the guide, has operated in the Spreyton area since the early 1900s, initially producing apples and later expanding into beverages and cherry production.
A total of 12,000 printed copies will be distributed across Tasmania through visitor information centres, the Spirit of Tasmania ferries, airports in Hobart and Launceston, and tourism and hospitality venues.
For the 2025/26 period, the guide will also be available in digital format for the first time, supported by the Tasmanian Government. The digital version will include an interactive map to assist consumers in locating growers.
The guide continues to promote the Tasmanian Grown brand and provides an overview of the state's horticultural produce.
