A recent update from British Apple & Pear growers provides monthly data on the volume of British apples sold through UK supermarkets. The figures offer insight into how major retailers support domestic apple producers.

The dataset includes a recent correction to Asda's sales figures for September to December 2024, which were submitted late and updated in February 2025. The correction did not affect the overall ranking of supermarkets.

The analysis also compares each retailer's share of British apple sales with their total grocery market share. In theory, these shares should align, but the data reveals notable differences, with some supermarkets selling significantly more British apples relative to their size, while others lag behind.
