Apple prices in Poland, Italy, France, and Germany have shown notable fluctuations in recent months, reflecting regional supply and demand conditions. In Poland, ex-packaging station prices for apples in November 2024 were recorded at €69/100 kg, decreasing slightly to €65/100 kg in December, before rebounding to €67/100 kg in January 2025. The trend suggests moderate price stability despite seasonal adjustments. Compared to historical averages, prices remain relatively high, possibly influenced by reduced production or increased export demand.
Italy has maintained relatively stable apple prices over the last three months. In November 2024, prices stood at €97/100 kg, increasing slightly to €98/100 kg in December, and holding steady at €98/100 kg in January 2025. This stability contrasts with previous years' fluctuations, indicating strong domestic demand or effective supply chain management. Despite minor variations, Italian apple prices remain among the highest in Europe, reflecting their premium market positioning.
In France, apple prices have exhibited a downward trend. November 2024 saw prices at €138/100 kg, dropping to €134/100 kg in December, and further declining to €133/100 kg in January 2025. This decline could be attributed to higher production levels or weakening consumer demand. While French apples continue to command premium pricing, the gradual decrease may signal market corrections or increased competition from other European producers.
Germany's apple market has remained relatively stable, with prices experiencing minor fluctuations. November 2024 prices were recorded at €81/100 kg, rising to €83/100 kg in December, and maintaining the same price level in January 2025. The steady pricing trend suggests balanced supply and demand dynamics, with German apples maintaining strong domestic and export demand. Compared to historical averages, the 2024/25 season aligns closely with previous years, reinforcing the market's resilience.
