International blueberry conference 2025 to focus on production advancements and export markets

The upcoming International Blueberry Conference 2025 will bring together industry experts, growers, and researchers to discuss the latest advancements in blueberry production and market trends. With increasing demand for high-quality blueberries, particularly in export markets, the conference aims to explore new agrotechnical solutions that enhance fruit quality and production efficiency.

The event will take place over two days, starting on March 6 at Hotel Mazurkas in Ożarów Mazowiecki. The conference will run from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with participants receiving refreshments during breaks, lunch, and a welcome package, which includes the latest edition of Modern Blueberry Cultivation 2025. All lectures will be simultaneously translated between Polish and English.

The first day will feature presentations from leading experts on various aspects of blueberry production. Topics will include the impact of soil pests on blueberry crops and their control strategies, as well as recent discoveries from the Borówkowe Factory. Speakers will address both biological and conventional protection methods for highbush blueberries, with discussions on fertigation techniques and optimizing dry matter balance to increase yields.

One of the key themes will be the role of agrovoltaics on plantations, highlighting opportunities and challenges in integrating solar energy with fruit production. The event will also focus on precision sorting and packaging technologies, labor management on blueberry farms, and strategies to maintain fruit quality from cultivation to post-harvest handling.

International market insights will be a major part of the discussions. Experts from China, Chile, and Poland will provide updates on the global blueberry trade, export requirements, and premiumization strategies in the industry. The conference will conclude with a debate on the possibilities of expanding exports to non-European markets, moderated by Dominika Kozarzewska.

The evening will feature a business gala dinner at 7:30 PM, offering attendees an opportunity to network with industry professionals.

On March 7, the conference will move outdoors to Jan Milewski's blueberry plantation in Falbogi Wielkie, Załuski Commune, where participants will observe practical demonstrations of modern cultivation techniques. The session will run from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with attendees provided with coffee, tea, and a hot meal.

During this field visit, experts will showcase pruning techniques for blueberry bushes, as well as machinery used in modern plantations. There will also be demonstrations of sorting and packaging solutions developed by MILBOR, and a special presentation on photovoltaic systems designed for blueberry farms by CORAB.

The International Blueberry Conference 2025 will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, helping growers adapt to market trends and improve production efficiency in a competitive global industry.
