The development is part of broader efforts to fortify relations between Moscow and Pyongyang. Notably, a summit was convened between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in June, marking Putin's first visit to North Korea in 24 years. During this summit, a treaty aimed at enhancing bilateral military cooperation was signed.
This agreement comes as Russia revises its apple production forecast for the current year to 1.5 million tons, a reduction from the previously estimated 1.8 million tons, attributed to adverse weather conditions.
