Green light for Italian pears in China with the first containers that will be shipped soon after the positive results of the latest inspections conducted by the Beijing authorities after the Italy-China Government Committee. Coldiretti and Filiera Italia have expressed their appreciation for the important result achieved by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani and the efforts made by the Ministry of Food Sovereignty Francesco Lollobrigida.
The announcement was made during Fruit Attraction, the international event held in Madrid in which Coldiretti President Ettore Prandini and Filiera Italia CEO Luigi Scordamaglia took part.

It is a historic achievement fruit of a lengthy and strenuous negotiations that started in 2017 and which was successful thanks to the hard work of the National Plant Protection Service in close collaboration with sector operators and the diplomatic missions of the two countries, taking advantage of all the tools IT technology made available over the years to make the technical visit possible.
It is an important milestone for the opening of this important market to such an important product for the national sector and for the Emilia-Romagna region in particular, which was heavily affected by the flood and is the leading production area in Italy with various PGI products.
Restoring and relaunching the Italian pear production potential is essential, as it has had to endure great difficulties over the past few years due to the brown marmorated stink bug, leaf blight, climate change and the floods. This year's harvest has been estimated in 200 thousand tons of good-quality produce with a wide range of varieties.
The end of negotiations puts an end to an anomaly with Nashi Chinese pears, which have been regularly reaching our country for a long time, and also represents a start when it comes to apples, as the Chinese only tackle one dossier at a time.
