Movement of asparagus from Peru through South Florida ports expected to remain the same

Movement of asparagus from Peru imports through South Florida ports of entry is expected to remain about the same. Trading moderate. Prices large much higher and standard higher. 11-pound cartons bunched green jumbo and extra large supplies in too few hands to establish a market, large mostly 25.75-26.75 and standard mostly 24.75. White supplies are in too few hands to establish a market. Supplies are short and very light. The domestic market is winding down earlier than normal, and Mexico is short on supplies due to hot and dry conditions. Quality and condition are variable but generally good. Movement of asparagus crossings from Mexico through Arizona, California and Texas is expected to remain about the same. Trading active. Prices higher. 11-pound cartons/crates bunched green large 26.75-28.75 and standard 25.75-26.75. Extra services included. No quality reported.

Movement of asparagus out of Michigan is expected to decrease sharply as most shippers are finished for the season. Trading fairly active. Prices higher. Pyramid cartons 28-pound bunched green large and standard mostly 60.75. 11-pound cartons bunched green large and standard supplies are insufficient and in too few hands to establish a market.

Movement of avocado crossings from Mexico through Texas is expected to decrease. Trading very active. Prices higher. Cartons 2-layer Hass 32-40s mostly 43.25-45.25, 48s mostly 45.25-48.25, 60s mostly 38.25-40.25, 70s mostly 30.25-32.25 and 84s mostly 25.25-27.25. Extra services included. Avocado movement out of South District California is expected to increase slightly. Trading active. Prices higher. Cartons 2-layer Hass 32-40s mostly 42.25-44.25, 48s mostly 42.25-45.25, 60s mostly 38.25-40.25, 70s 28.25-30.25 and 84s mostly 25.25-27.25. Extra services included. Movement of avocado from Peru imports through Philadelphia and New York City areas ports of entry is expected to increase seasonally.
